Have You Seen Coronavirus

If you’re anxious that all have been asked to stay home;
Take comfort in knowing you are not alone.

Tonight at 7, wherever you are;
Gaze up at the sky and pick out a star.
A moment alone, or with people you love;
We all share the beautiful sky high above.

Take 30 seconds, be still in your mind;
Reflect on a happy, most memorable time.
The littlest things can give hearts a lift;
If we pause, take a moment, and cherish our gifts.

Have you seen the doctors who hardly get to sleep
From sad weary eyes, silent tears they weep.
They’re battling to save hundreds of lives
Yet see so many dying right before their eyes.

Have you seen the nurses, tired and worn
Just come from doing many hours on the wards.
Have you seen them out, walking on lonely streets
Searching empty shelves, for nourishing food to eat.

Have you seen domestics, putting safety first
Keeping hospitals clean, fighting off the germs.
Bravely they go into infectious wards
Never thinking of themselves, no not at all.

Have you seen the porters, down on their heels
Walking many miles, pushing many wheels.
We must respect this valued band of women and men
Though they go unnoticed, we can’t do without them.

Have you seen the caterers, keeping all folk fed
The staff and the patients lying in their beds.
Such an important part to play in someone’s health
A role that couldn’t be compared to any amount of wealth.

Sadness falls across the land.
I try to run from it But I just can’t get away.
This darkness has swallowed us,
And now  we are trapped in a sad world,
Of jokes about everything of ours,Even our families.

No one will give me a chance in this world,
My heart becomes black with other people’s hatred,
And as I keep getting knocked down,
Now one is there to help me up.

All Police do is kick us while  we’re down.
Happiness is now fleeing and I feel all hope is gone.
We still think we can push on,But still we have doubts.

I think that maybe the summer can bring me happiness,
But that idea has been shot down by the Covid19 and the Lockdown.

Now what do I do?
I have nowhere to hide from this hatred & Police brutality,And I feel if I can get through this,
I can make a name for myself,But there is still no hope,For a tortured soul like mine.
