Pester The Almighty For Forgiveness[ ISTIGHFAR]

The CHILDREN OF ISRAEL got INSTANT PUNISHMENT from God almighty when they messed up in SELECTED OCCASIONS.  They were GOD’S PEOPLE but the STONE-HEARTEDNESS that they are, made them CHANGE THEIR MINDS almost every minute.

God THE Almighty DELIVERED them from FIRAUN’S PEOPLE, who subjected them to SEVERE TORMENT, killing their sons and sparing their women. And when ALLAH PARTED the SEA FOR THEM, and SAVE THEM and DROWNED the FOLLOWERS OF FIRAUN and Firaun himself in their own eyes, they TOOK IT FOR GRANTED and INSULTED GOD.

They went to an extent of TELLING Prophet Musa that they CANNOT BEAR with ONE FOOD, therefore he should pray  “HIS” Lord to bring forth for them out of what the earth grows, of its HERBS and its CUCUMBERS and its GARLIC and its LENTILS and its ONIONS, to which he RESPONDED in ASTONISHMENT: “Will you EXCHANGE that which is BETTER for that which is WORSE? Enter a city, so you will have what you ask for. And ABASEMENT AND HUMILIATION were brought down UPON THEM, and they became DESERVING of ALLAH’S WRATH; this was so BECAUSE they killed the PROPHETS UNJUSTLY and DISOBEYED and EXCEEDED the LIMITS.

Now BACK TO YOU AS MUSLIMS, if that was the situation with the PAST GENERATIONS,  earning punishment instantly….. ALLAH IS MERCIFUL enough for you because of THESE TWO GEMS: He WON’T PUNISH us when the PROPHET MUHAMMAD is AMONGST US and when we are still OFTEN REPENTING. Unfortunately, he has gone back to his maker. Left with ISTIGHFAAR   and PERPETUAL REPENTANCE, we can’t afford to stop PESTERING ALLAH for FORGIVENESS. The day we STOP, the day we are RUINED. Istaghfirullahi Al Adhim.

But Allah was not going to chastise them while you were among them, nor is Allah going to chastise them while yet they ask for forgiveness. Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.”

OUR Prophet (ﷺ) Teaches us a du’a for seeking forgiveness;  “The best supplication for seeking forgiveness (Syed-ul- Istighfar) is to say: O Allah! You are my Rubb. There is no true god except You. You have created me, and I am Your slave, and I hold to Your Covenant as far as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge the favors that You have bestowed upon me, and I confess my sins. Pardon me, for none but You has the power to pardon.’

May Allah make us among those who constantly seek His forgiveness and mercy sincerely.
